All Children Entering 6th Grade Must Have Tdap Immunization
All students entering sixth grade must present proof that they have received the Tdap vaccine for tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis before starting school this year. Virginia rules have changed, so all sixth-grade students are now included. There is no exemption for those under 11 years of age. Parents are asked to check with their doctor to be sure their child is current on shots. Proof of immunization must be presented to enroll children in sixth grade for the 2014-15 school year.

Shots may be obtained from a doctor, military clinic, or the Prince William County Health Department. Documentation should be taken to your child’s middle school or Central Registration.

The Prince William County Health District may be reached at the following locations and telephone numbers: 9301 Lee Avenue, Manassas, VA 20110, 703.792.6300, and 4001 Prince William Parkway, Ste. 101, Woodbridge, VA 22191, 703.792.7300.

New Buzzer System
In keeping with our ongoing commitment to a safe environment, our school will begin using an entry system that will require all visitors, including parents and volunteers, to push a buzzer at the front door and identify themselves before being allowed to enter the building. Visitors will then report to the front office and follow all existing check-in procedures, including picture identification collection and scanning and the creation of a visitor’s pass. Parents and visitors should plan for this procedure to add at least 5-10 minutes to the time it takes to visit, pick-up students, drop off items, or conduct any other business at school. The new entry system and procedure will take effect beginning September 2 during regular school hours.
New Student Registration
New student registration for the 2014-15 school year begins Thursday, May 1, 2014 and runs until the end of June. Registration resumes in August. An appointment is necessary, please contact Mrs. Kristine Bucci to set up an appointment at 571.402.3500 or

Fall Athletic Tryouts
Tryouts for fall sports will begin Thursday, September 4, after school. Students who are interested in trying out for a fall sport should report to the gym and must have a current athletic physical (completed after May 1 of this year) and concussion training completion certificate on file with the athletic coordinator, Mr. Jonathan Bukva.

The school will hold face-to-face concussion training sessions on August 27 and September 3 in the school gym at 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. on both nights. Students who have previously completed a face-to-face concussion training session in a Prince William County middle school may complete their training online. Athletic physicals and online concussion training completion certificates may be submitted to the school's front office between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. or to the athletic coordinator during school hours.
